On October 12, Lieutenant Governor Johnson presented the 2006 Director’s Economic Development Achievement Awards to six Ohio economic development professionals who have attained significant achievement and demonstrated a fervent commitment to the profession. The awards were presented during the Annual Summit of the Ohio Economic Development Association.

Ohio State Fair:
Johnson toured the Governor's Booth at the 2006 Ohio State Fair. The booth, created by the Ohio Department of Development, was recognized publicly by the Blue Ribbon Award Program for "Best State Agency" display.

TQL Groundbreaking:
Lieutenant Governor Bruce Johnson joined company leaders from Total Quality Logistics in celebrating the groundbreaking of the firm’s new sales and customer service center in Union Township (Clermont County). The $14.6 million project is expected to create 586 jobs.

 

 


May 22, 2006

Lieutenant Governor Bruce Johnson joins BMW Financial Services in celebrating the opening of the company's new, expanded headquarters facility in Hilliard. The company has invested more than $30 million in expanding the operation, which includes the retention of 443 positions and the creation of 72 jobs. The State of Ohio, through the Ohio Department of Development, provided BMW FS the following assistance for the project: a 60% Job Creation Tax Credit for an eight-year term; a $300,000 Ohio Investment in Training Program grant; and a $500,000 Business Development grant. Additionally, the City of Hilliard was awarded a $500,000 Roadwork Development grant and an Ohio Water Development Authority Loan of up to $1 million.
